Assessment of postural instability in Parkinson’s disease patients

Abstract Background Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a degenerative, progressive, neurological condition that influences the control of person’s body movements. Computerized dynamic posturography (CDP) clinical tool intended to evaluate integration visual, vestibular, and somatosensory inputs maintain postural gait. Posturography can be used measure instability in PD patients. So, aim this study was elaborate on pathophysiology balance impairment patients “on” state. Results All antero-posterior (AP) medio-lateral (ML) sensory scores, except vestibular ones, were significantly lower group compared group. AP ML sway generally higher at all frequencies, with being mostly greater subjects. Global scores shown deteriorate increased durations treatment. Conclusions have comparison controls ML.
